..::PICKING THE RIGHT PROGRAMMER CAN BE HARD::..

To tell you the truth, PHP was designed to be a simple programming language. The basic language principals are simple enough that just about anyone that is technologically minded or knows basic HTML can 'tinker' around in the code and can often enough make it do what they want. What this means is the market is flooded with 'php-tinkerers'. This can make it very difficult to decide which programmer to choose. You certainly don't want to pick a programmer that uses a 'trial and error' method of programming, creates sloppy code or leaves your site full of security holes and vulnerable.

I have been involved in programming before PHP even became a common, everyday web-term. In fact, the first programming language I touched was QBasic, way back in 1994 (if I remember correctly!) I then moved on to work with languages such as VisualBasic, C++, Delphi/Pascal, HTML, Perl, Javascript, VBA/ASP, Java and ActionScript (although I would not claim to be a Java or AS programmer!) I first started using PHP in 2002 and I have been using it as my main programming tool since. (After all, web-based apps are the future!)

What I am trying to get at is, I think like a programmer. When I approach a project I look at it in a best-way-to-program-and-design-the-database mindset.
