WAP(Wireless Access Protocol) is a protocol for interconnection of internet and wireless network that was proposed in June 1997 by the WAP Forum. WAP Forum is a standardization organization founded by Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and Unwired Planet. WAP Forum announced WAP 1.0 in 1998 and WAP 1.1 and WAP 1.2 in December 1999 and WAP 2.0 in 2001. According to this, each supported languages are not consistent. Wireless terminals that support WAP 1.x use WML for internet browsing and those using WAP 2.0 XHTML. Two packages are contained in our ©WAP Flatform©. - XBuilder : An integrated development environment of building web site that can be used by wireless terminals that supports WAP 1.x and WAP 2.0. - XServer : A server that serves for wireless terminals on web sites. 1.XBuilder XBuilder is an integrated development environment that edit visually Web pages for WAP service, scripts and images. In general, to build a web site, there are many elements needed including web page, script, database management control and images. Xbuilder makes this process to be done visually through GUI. It also make them in one file, so building a web site is quite simple. Also, it can interconnect with XServer so that it helps the web site to be executed. 2.XServer XServer is a WAP application server which exports WML or XHTML depending on the request from the client. Web site files created XBuilder contains web pages and resources and scripts. XServer responds with WML or XHTML on the needs from the client. Also XServer make transformation of images depending upon the terminals© information.
