Work Done:
Client desired a script to clean out orphaned data
from 3 MySQL databases with ~500,000 rows in products between them.
Delivered a *SAFE* script that took 20 seconds of nonblocking processing via PHPmyAdmin.
Made further optimizations on their database that took key pages down to 2 secondsprocessing time from more than 20 seconds.
As a bonus gave wrote a small php script so they could check on orphan build up in the future. (it was a result of ill advised bulk updating that timed out) a practice I could not be certain they would stop. |
