In central Missouri there is a pristine man made lake which has fast become one of the most famous vacation spots in the United States. Named " Lake Of The Ozarks", it is a huge ninety three square mile reservoir which was formed when the Bagnell Dam was constructed in the early sixties.
Its reputation among bass and crappie fishermen is nearly second to none. Living here is like a little piece of heaven on earth. There are so many activities to partake in - day and night one can find much to do, rain or shine. In fact, the Lake of the Ozarks State Park (largest in the state) offers camping, group camping, hiking, horseback riding, boating, swimming, fishing, mountain biking and spelunking.
There are two major water parks on the lake. Big Surf Water Park (outdoor) and Timber Falls Water Park, (indoor) You can even golf at a professionally designed golf course on the lake.
For clean family fun, just about every conceivable water sport can be found here. The lake is surrounded by nearly three-hundred caves, one being the well known Bridal Cave, where many have married! Many of these caves offer guided tours, some having beautiful underground pools, as well as fossil finds.
For the party animal type, they will find " let your hair down" group activity, at the renowned Party Cove. Once visitors arrive at Party Cove, all of the boats are tied together, in a procession, to make one large, floating, party house. There is no other party quite like the one at Party Cove. Things can get wild as alcohol is distributed freely. Anything goes at Party Cove, and the excitement is enough to bring people from all over the country to Party Cove for at least one weekend in the summer.
"Everything under the sun" can be found at Lake Of The Ozarks, they provide affluent guest Condos, Resorts, three - level rentals, having upper and lower decks with a view, even guest houses capable of sleeping up to twenty guests, for those wanting to have family reunions. Complete with full kitchens, entertainment rooms, pool tables, even private adult rooms with a sauna on the deck. Most include their own private docks, covered as well as uncovered.
