Description
SocialEngine Modification
Here is a short plan of how we want to change the functions on the socialengine, it may look like much to do, it is just very detailed. This is going to be a sports site, with the goal of making the job easier for a sport trainer.
What needs to be implemented?
First off, we need support for the letters “ÆØÅæøå” in every part of this site and SocialEngine.
This site is going to be a sports-site, where each individual player is going to be bound up to a team (group). As they register on this site, they have one of two choices:
1. Create a new team (group), where they choose to invite their trainer and fellow teammates/supporters.
2. Seek membership in an existing team (group), where the trainer (leader of the group) accepts.
3. If the trainer is the one adding the team, same as function 1.
As with all big social networks, this is a part where we need alot of control. So we need to keep the possibility for us to add/remove/modify any teams.
We need to have three different type of users;
1. Trainers which will function as the admin for each group.
2. Players which will be able to view all info and discuss on private boards with their trainer but not able to modify the settings of the team (group).
3. Supporters/Family which will be able to view the calendar and whatever information the trainer chooses to pass on.
Calendar function wich holds all the events::
Every user is bound up to a team (group):
- When it comes to the team function, it should be the same as the groups already implemented in SocialEngine.
- The most important part here is that every single user of the site needs to be a member of a team (group).
- Each trainer should be able to run the calendar, and synchronize up to the Team at all time.
RSS Feeds, which will be a function called “What’s happening?”
- With the RSS Feeds we as site-admins need to able to choose individual RSS Feeds we’d like the users to be able to subscripe to.
- We need a function where we will be able to add a small 100x100px image which will describe what the RSS feed is for (example; thetimes.co.uk - bbc.co.uk etc)
- Each user should be able to Choose from our selection of RSS feeds.
- Here we should also be able to post whatever news/feed we’d like to each user.
Trainingblogs:
Trainingblogs will work as the blog function already avaliable, should have a modification to choose what type of users should view the blog.
With some more details:
- A team (group) should function as one obligated team (group) for every member, every member should have their own group from start.
- The group admin should have the access to post an event to the calendar function, that will automatically invite everyone in the obligated group. The group leader should have a list of the members before the invite, and have the possibility to remove one/some of the members in the group from an invitation.
- Group plugin needs to be modificated so it communicates directly with the calendar and the other way around.
- Group leader should be able to add events for every single member in the group with a single click.
