Description
To develop a simple receipt capture and streaming application for the IPhone aimed at SMEs and individuals wishing to archive their receipts digitally before they end up in the washing machine or under the bed.
The IPhone application will incorporate some basic image manipulation (e.g. resize, greyscale) before streaming the image to a central API. Some additional functionality will be necessary to grab an overview of the receipts date/time and any additional tags that the user has entered on the website control panel.
The IPhone app is essentially a shell and will not require any sophisticated categorisation or editing controls.
KEY FEATURES
To snap the receipt in greyscale/full colour at a number of predefined resolutions.
To mark the receipt as business/personal (Before streaming).
To select streaming preferences that will determine when the IPhone pushes the data to the API. To preserve data allowances the user may only want to stream when in WiFi range.
To display a summary of pending receipts that are waiting, or are in the process of being streamed to the API.
To maintain a small memory footprint by efficiently managing localised receipt images. Once we know the API has the receipt then delete the original local copy.
To call up a list of all receipts from the API within a predefined period or by supplier name (assuming the user has manually categorised it on the server). By default the control panel will show the last 7 days.
Following on from the previous point, a detail screen will be accessible to show the rasterized image and any tags that the user has applied on the server. An API function will stream this information back when the user clicks to view the details.
