Description
Requirements:
A website that works like this:
The User goes to the in home page. It simply has the property search form. A bit like the attached gif
The User fills in the criteria and hits search. This site then searches sites we have selected for matching properties.
The idea is this:
We have a list of estate agency websites. If a User searches for a property â200234For Saleâ200235 using our site, we in turn search the listed sites and bring up results page that combines all the results from the various websites. The User scrolls through the results and if they click on the â200234More detailsâ200235 they go to the appropriate property details page.
The User can sort the results using standard criteria found on property portal sites. These included: by price low to high, by price high to low, etc
The same can be done with properties to rent and lettings agent sites.
Key Comments:
I understand that various property sites will have different methods of searching their sites. For this reason I will need someone to not only build the site but to offer further support in adding websites to the list and ensuring their properties come up in the search.
The second important option is that I need to rank the sites. What I mean by this is this:
Lets say we have three estate agent sites in our list:
Johnson Homes
Smith Property
Millar Real Estate.
We rank them 1 â200223 3
Johnson Homes is ranked 1
Smith Property is ranked 2
Millar Real Estate is ranked 3
When a User searches for a 2 bed flat with a maximum price of £600 in Edinburgh. The results are ordered first by the price or any other criteria the User selects after the search. But then the flats are ordered by our ranking.
For example, if all of the above agents had a flat on the market for £600, Johnson Homesâ200231 flat would rank first, Smith Propertyâ200231s flat second, Millar Real Estateâ200231s flat third.
I need a backend system that would allow me to alter the ranking any time I need to.
Finally
This project needs to be completed by the end of 2009. I am happy to stagger payments. If we set out key stages, I will pay at those points. But please note that I will not pay an upfront payment to start the project. I pay for results, not promises
