Description
We need to develop a playlist module similar to what musicians have on their profile page on MySpace. The module has a player and a list of songs organized by Genre, playlists, and albums (Songs Collections). Users can purchase songs and download them (not through iTunes) and artists get paid accordingly.
A user browses a musician profile and selects a collection type (organized using tabs). (See MySpace for better understanding of the concept). Once a collection type has been selected by the user, a list of all the items in the collection appears. The items can be organized as cards (image, title, and buy button) or as a list where every item contains more information (thumbnail, basic statistics, artist name, and other fields that can easily be drawn from the database).
When a user clicks the add button the item is added to his shopping cart and the buy button on the item is replaced with download. The user can access his download from his account (My Account >> Downloads). In order to be able to buy a song a user has to buy packages of songs. Once the balance of his cart is cleared the total amount of the purchase is added to his account. The account and ‘downloads’ controls should be set as separate modules.
The module should have an admin area where the artist uploads his songs and organize them in collections, and perform basic database operations (update, delete, add). (Open a musician artist account on MySpace to get the gist of things). The artist should have the option to control different settings in the playlist (e.g. free songs or collections, collections view, default collection, default song etc).
PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS
The module should be developed for DotNetNuke using C#. The player can be either flash or Silverlight as long as it interacts with the SQLSERVER database. No need to invent the wheel. Open source projects both for shopping carts and for playlist exist on the web (e.g. NB Store can be found at dotnetnuke.com). We need someone that is able to put it all together in a reasonable price and a reasonable time.
If you not familiar with DNN but you’re a skilled C# and Silverlight programmer we might consider your offer.
PAYMENT AND MILESTONES
We divide the work into two parts: the playlist and the ecommerce. At first we require to see a playlist module working before we proceed to the shopping cart part. Our payments will not be released from Escrow until we tested everything to our satisfactory.
