Description
I am looking for a higly skilled PHP/MySQL professional who is also has experience with GWT and Java.
I am developing a web based platform through GWT which has the whole bunch of movable windows the user interacts with the windows, however all data processing is performed by PHP scripts.
I have a developer doing user interface implementation and therefore looking for someone skilled in PHP and MySQL to write scrips that will interact with user interface and perform all data processing.
Please note that it is a complex project so if you are used to designing simple pages with a bit of script then this is not for you. I am looking for a true professional. Since not all functionality is precisely defined you should expect multiple changes throughout project.
I am not sure about final price for this project as there are so many variables, therefore my preference would be to find someone who is good at what he/she does and then pay on Time and Material basis.
To be successfull as a bidder please provide examples of your previous works, and send me an example of your php code also I will require candidate to pass a test to prove skills.
You will also have to do extensive documentation of all code, please state your experience in producing documentation.
My preference would be to work directly with the individual, not with project manager who has 20 programmers.
This is a long term relationships therefore I prefer to spend some time at the beginning to make sure that I have got the right person.
Also you should be easily available through e-mail or Skype, if you take one day to reply it is not good you need to be able to reply within lets say 4-6 hours - it is very important.
There is plenty of work to be done, below is just an example of how first task will look like.
The first task will be to write a cgi script that will serve data to the user. I have a database that is 15-30 GB in size it contains historical price data in different time resolutions tick by tick, minute, 5 minutes, daily etc. The script should accept a number of different parameters such as stock code, time resolution, timeframes and return this data to the user in archived and coded format.
The developer will have to advice on the correct database design that will insure optimal performance (don't offer to just index database I know this without you but there are other aspects of design that are as important as indexing)
Next task will be to create a trigger that fill fire when data is added to the database the procedure should then consolidate data and add it to different time resolutions. For example a tick data is added to the database, the procedure then should consolidate it and add to the minute resolution database, minute then should add data to 5 minutes etc.
In your bid please answer the following questions:
1) Tell me about your education and work background
2) What programming languages you know and what is your level of knowledge and experience with each of them
3) Are you willing to take the test (don't bid if not)
4) How many hours a week can you work
5) Do you have experience documenting code, can you provide examples
6) How quickly you will answer to my questions and what guarantee can you provide (I just don't like when I e-mail people and they take two days to reply, it is a serious work so communication has to be instant)
7) Can you provide examples of PHP code written by you
8) Do you have experience with GWT
