THE WEBSITE DESCRIPTION
This is a music download website: A digital music shop on the Internet.
• This should be created or developed with Ajax technology, as much as possible
• It will have highly secure login system and song protection.
• The website will sell both audio track and music
• User or buyers will have to register before they can use the site membership is free
• It will have two different types of audio products:
1. The first type of product will be single tracks
2.This second type will be albums that will contain some songs in chain; the songs will be connected. Each album could contain 10 songs or more, all in 2 or more tracks. The product can also be called Chain Music, and they will be sold and downloaded as Albums t a different price.
•The payment gateway will be Paypal.
Features of the website
1. Users will have to login to sample (listen to) music or buy songs. This means that visitors cannot use most of the site until they register.
2. It will have a music sampler that will play each/any song for 50 seconds only. This sampler will be placed beside every song on the website. It will have a sampler page for the visitors to the website. This will have a button on the home page that links them to the visitors’ music sampling page. The page will be small; about 300/200 pixels). This second music sampler will also play music for 50 seconds only. The sampling page will contain a maximum of 10 songs/ tracks at a time. The songs will be changed from time to time from the panel. This sampler will be a Flash Player.
3. The website will have a “tell a friend” or “invite a friend” application that will enable users to send an invitation to 20 people at a time, through their email address. This means, the application will have provision for 20 spaces/ boxes for the email addresses. The application will also provide a space for the user to write a note on the invitation. This is what appears on the email, with the link to the website. This application will be shown on the page that confirms successful registration. That is, the page that says “congratulations” after a user has completed membership registration.
4. It will have different Top 10 music charts. One will be automated. It will put or place artistes on the chart according to music sales. This means the highest selling song at every given time takes the No1 position on the chart. It’s called Download chart.
The second chart will feature the hottest new songs on the website. And will be changed regularly. Each of these Top 10 music charts will also have options for the user to see Top 50 songs and Top 100 songs. The charts will also have music sampler, to play music for 50 seconds only.
5. The site will have multiple music search options as follows: by song, by Album, by artiste, by genre, by year, by month, by chart. This search will start from the home page, with a few of the options, but will have a page.
6. It will have an artiste Registration form for those who want to sell their music on the website: this is where they will submit/put all the necessary information about them, including the passport photograph. The information is to be saved on the database, while some of it will appear on the profile of the artiste.
7. It will have a music download counter: this show how many times each has been downloaded (bought). This counter or the numbers will show at the side of the song. (Just like other things the “add to cart” button).
8. It will have a forum where members can discuss about the website, the songs the artistes.
9. Each artiste will have a page (Profile page) where their picture will show. The album produced so far, it will have a mail list for each artiste can reach them.
10. It will have a feature for song recommendation. With this, a buyer can recommend some of the purchased songs to friends and family, after the purchase. This feature could be on the “check out page”, with space provision for emails.
