PROJECT OBJECTIVES

To become a niche player in the segment of coaching/preparation for entrance tests and competition tests
To provide the students benefit of practicing from the comfort of their homes or internet café and maintain enough flexibility
To allow the students advantage of increasing internet and broadband penetration
To save the students a lot of their precious time which they spend on commuting to classrooms
To save the students precious time lost in commuting to the study centres and allow him enough flexibility in scheduling his studies.
To help the students remain more focused on their school classes and Board exams and not make them bunk their schools for learning at study centres
To save the students from the pain of hearing the topics which they know well already in the classroom thereby allowing him more time to concentrate on weaker areas
To save the students precious time by not repeating the questions which he has answered right in the first attempt
To help the students repeatedly attempt the questions which they failed to attempt correctly in the first instance, thereby acting as a private tutor.
Generating personalized mocktests based on each student’s individual depth and breadth and allowing him to focus more on weaker areas and improve his score and raking accordingly
Environment friendly – no more wastage of paper in paper-books and paper-tests

PLATFORM & TECHNICAL DETAILING
1. Sub-domains to be provided for each kind of test with separate homepage and setting with cross linkages. e.g. cpt.domain.com; engg.domain.com, medical.domain.com
2. All websites with .com/.net/.in/.co.in/ etc. to be made operational with same kind of homepage and clicking on any link would take the visitor to the main website
3. Layout and Design of website
- contemporary international looks

- colour scheme – sober and bright

- compatible with all kinds of explorers

- should not be too crowded with information

- should be user-friendly

- moving pictures (not videos) to be used instead of static pictures

- to be designed in a programming language that’s fast in loading

- Ask a Question (new question)

- Load a Question – Registered Students may load new questions which would be stored separately. The questions may be loaded in text, alphanumeric, word or jpeg format. The students would earn bonus points which can be redeemed by them for buying a test.

- Free practice tests for last 3 years without hints – just score – automatic evaluation – score to be displayed on hitting ‘Submit’

- Provision for Tubing: Video and Audio files

- Text to speech conversion



5. Student’s Module



- Dashboard

- Registration – Name, Middle Name, Surname, Father’s Name, Address, Telephone No. (up to 3 Nos.), Mobile No., email id, alternative email id, school’s name, school address, Examination/Test, previous attempts details, if any; Month/Year of Exam, Roll No. if allotted (optional), Performance in 10th Boards – subject-wise, 11th and pre-boards in 12th, Invite Friends (enables 1 extra Mock-Test for paid subscribers – software to pull out information automatically for the contacts with the password and send invite on behalf of the registering student), upload photograph, upload documents for submission, username, password, confirm password, spam control., if registered for any other Test – registration number



- Registration no. to be generated Test-wise, State-wise, City-wise, School- wise/Institution-wise/Affiliate-wise, year-wise and then 5 digits for the student nos.

- Log in

- My Account

- My Doubts and Answers - to go automatically to the faculty concerned with a copy to be stored separately – question no., date and time when question asked; date and time of reply; the reply; reviewed by; reviewer’s comments’; action taken; for the student, Ask a Doubt to be limited in number per mocktest/practice test bought.

- My Credits (chose subject, if more than one)- – Bought Credits + Gifted Credits + Earned Credits (Referrals) – Used Credits – Credits Gifted/Transferred, Balance

- My bonus points, earned, redeemed (bonus points to be earned for accepted new questions only)

- My Log – details time-wise, activity-wise (whether practice or mock)

- My Scores – Performance Card, Ranking in City/India after 5th Mock-Test based on simple average, Skill Reports – Subject wise, chapter wise

- My Graph – for Mock-Tests

- My Blog/Discussion Forums – subject wise

- Link Registration Particulars for further tests



6. MCQ Database

- Coding: AABBCCDDEEEEFFSSG

· AA for Test code (01-99)

· BB for Subject Code (01-99)

· CC for Chapter Code (01-99)

· DD for Topic within chapter (01-99)

· EEEE for question no. (01 to 9999)

· FF for Faculty Code

· SS for the Supervisor Code (Supervising faculty)

· G for difficulty level 0,1,2,3 (0=beginners; 1 = Easy, 2=Moderate, 3= Difficult)

- Correct Answers for every question – linked to MCQ

- Hints/Logic/Solution – linked to MCQ and Correct Answer

- Hints/Logic/solution to be linked to Topic in e-book

- Topics in e-Book to be arranged Chapter-wise and then subject-wise and then Test-wise

- Database available in Excel Files/Word Table together with Hints.

- Database format to be given by the Developer so that further material can be arranged in the database

- How the mathematical equations and graphs and pictures to be made part of database – technicalities, programs? If these have to be converted to JPEG, what are the size constraints/parameters?

- Topics to be made available in MS Word or PDF files. – never whole material to be displayed in the same window

- Technicalities to be sorted out for converting it and for making it appear on the screen for test (practice/mock) in such manner that the contents can not be downloaded.- Right clicking to be disabled; any other measures that can be taken? Or the questions to be converted to JPEG format/other format before uploading in database.

- Database including e-Book topics (viewing only) to be made available online to Faculty and Supervising Faculty against secured password for validating data and suggesting changes against the inputs, adding questions and hints and for suggesting changes in difficulty level – double check to be exercised before updating the database. Numbering not to be changed – deleted questions numbers to get hidden/deactivated; new numbers to be generated for the altered/amended questions/new questions.

- Faculty dashboard also to provide for a user-friendly feel. My log in, log in (time details), datewise summary – questions cleared, questions added, questions changed. The menu to provide for selection of review or adding – questions, hints and ebook, Ask a Doubt, Doubtful questions reported and cleared, My Account, My payments (Payment due to Faculty)

- Flexibility to be maintained if e-Book is not to be provided for any subject but provision to be made in the portal for the e-Book for all Tests and all subjects.



7. Preparation Pack:

- Access to e-Book + Practice Tests + Mock-Tests

- Subject wise for each type of Test

- e-Book to be generated for every Topic and linked with the chapter and subject and Test

- Students to have hyperlink access to the respective topic in e-Book when they wish to go to the textbook from the Hints

- Option to be given to the students for reading the e-Book first and then start practice test or quit e-Book at any stage and start practice tests or vice versa

- E-book to be in a form which can not be downloaded. At one time access to only one topic would be allowed.

- Voice enabling for the e-Book (Audio Book) reading in English. Is reading in Indian accent available?

- Audio Video Tubing.

- What’s the safeguard if a single student buys the preparation pack and then a group of students practice same time or one after another?



8. Practice Pack

- Defined number of questions per Practice Test

- Defined number of Practice Test for each subject/area

- No time clock

- No time limit for the practice tests;

- On the spot, right or wrong answer with hints.

- No access to e-Books – Only Hints

- Single time access to Practice Test, Pause and Resume function. If one gets disconnected or logs out, the practice test would resume from where the practice test paused or the last question attempted.

- Questions to appear in such manner that the questions can not be downloaded or copied by right clicking or in any other manner, even by programmers or experts. As such it is proposed that a single question would prop up on the screen every time in the left side and Wrong/Right would appear on the Right side with hints.

- If any student wishes to repeat any Practice Test, he can buy further credits

- Report a Doubtful Question – to go automatically to the faculty concerned with a copy to be stored separately – question no., date and time when question asked; date and time of reply; the reply; reviewed by; reviewer’s comments’; action taken





9. Mock-Test Pack

- Mock-Tests to be generated online by Computer using randomization programs

- All Questions to be evaluated online after the clicking of Submit button or expiry of time, whichever is first

- Difficulty levels to be maintained – Standard and Advanced

- Tracking for the Students of their performance

- Right Questions successfully attempted first time not to be considered for further Mock-Tests. The codes of these questions to be stored in database of the student. While generating the next Mock-Test, these questions not to be considered.

- Wrong Questions to be included in future Mock-Tests generated for the student till successfully attempted at least thrice. The codes of these questions to be stored in database of the student. These questions to be included to the extent of ____% in next Mock-Test along with other questions. Three level monitoring with logic to be built in data base for these questions for the limited purpose of generating Mock-Test.

- Detailed Score and Skill Reports to provide valuable feedback to the candidate to prepare more fully for the Test. – Chapter-wise analysis of the wrong answers so that the student knows which areas are weak.

- Time clock with stop watch/Pause function.

- Option to the student for Paper-Pencil Mode or e-Test Mode. The presentation on the screen would differ in both cases. In paper-pencil mode, the left part of the screen would show the question paper as if it is on paper with a white background and the right part would carry the answer sheet. In the e-Test mode, the round buttons for selection of the right answer would appear on the screen and the answer sheet would not be visible. The student will have the option to revise his answers and do the necessary corrections/revisions before the expiry of time or hitting the Submit button.

- Report a Doubtful Question

- If the student logs out or gets logged out or internet connection breaks or he abandons a Test, the questions shall neither be evaluated nor would the Mock-Test be counted. The student will be entitled to a repeat test, generated again.
