Description
A UK-based company is developing a range of web-based social interaction services. The project requires a number of distinct programming modules to be developed and then integrated. This project request relates to the need to develop a module for Internet communications.

Essentially this communication module must be able to set-up a multicast overlay network and handle the transmission and reception of audio/visual streams from a user’s computer and from other users across the Internet using appropriate protocols and networking techniques.

My company has a new hybrid multicast protocol (an architecture in which the implementation of a multicast service is split between the network and end-hosts) that has been developed by an academic research institute and we need to turn it into a fully functional commercial communication module.

Therefore, all bidders will be expected to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the field of Internet communications, network structures and multicast technologies. Examples of relevant programming experience must be provided and will be fully researched. Knowledge of programming for video conferencing, multi-game playing and Internet based peer-to-peer network implementation would be a distinct advantage. An understanding of the Python language is also necessary.

The project requires that source code be provided throughout the project development phase for evaluation and the copyright of the source code and all intellectual property rights will belongs to my company. Therefore, please include all costs in your bids. Additional fees for copyright ownership will not be accepted after bids are accepted.
