Description
A membership-based, matchmaking website with 3 categories of memberships.
All 3 categories register preliminary information to apply to be members. They are approved or denied based upon the administrators review of their application profile. If approved, they are notified and proceed to membership. One of the categories does not pay. Their membership is free. Two of the categories pay (ecommerce). These two membership categories, once approved, are then give access to their company and product profile to complete and be live for matchmaking.
The major component of this site is a searchable relational database for connecting people wanting to do business together. It also should feature an opportunity for each category to place a request to do business with other members who meet key word matches, based upon each members profile.
The site and database must be designed to be administrator friendly for revisions to both.
Other features should include:
+ dynamic website design w/consistent format on Chrome, Explorer, Safari and Firefox
+ auto email verification
+ auto email alert option for members to be notified when a match has been made. (They should be go back to site to locate like Linked In.)
+ emessaging system within site similar to craigslist. One category of members has the option of remaining confidential until they opt to reveal their identify themselves (email address or name or company).
+ uploading of photo images in member profiles.
+Iphone application
+ e: ticket support
+ ecommerce for membership (two of three categories)

+ content management system for video/rss/articles/blogs
+ front page box (1/4 screen or banner or scrolling newswrie) of elements of new member profiles.

I've read through your initial requirements. Your website shall be made on the popular open-source CMS platform, Joomla. The e-commerce component will also be built using a native Joomla componenent. A number of features will need to be customized and programmed for scratch. But all in all, it will be an integrated application, which you can easily manage using Joomla's strong CMS backend and extend whenever you want to.
Our work methodology is simple and as follows:
- We start with a requirement analysis meeting which can be held over skype or phone. We will discuss in detail your requirements, formalize them in writing and define a scope of the project. This will also include your design and layout requirements.
- Following this, our designer will prepare a design template for your site. Based on your feedback this template will be further refined to perfection. A good design is always important for the success of a site.
- Alongside, functional implementation will be carried out. Through the project, the website shall be hosted on our servers so that you can view it all the time and follow the progress.
- Once all features have been implemented we will present it to you for a review and then based on your feedback, we will make any changes that you require.
- Once the website is finalized it will be hosted on a server of your choice. We also provide hosting services, should you wish to use ours.
An iPhone application is also part of this proposal. However we will discuss its detailed functionality in the requirements analysis phase.

This is an ambitious project! It would be nice to have in our portfolio.
We don't use any existing framework - so your site will be 100% custom made to suite your needs (like Craiglist and linked-in).
We would definitely like to know more about your design criteria, i sense that the function of the site is more important than the graphics? However, design is always important to the finished product. We are noted for the simplicity of our back ends (it's the main reason we don't use Joomla or Drupal - they are over complicated for most users needs).
We would design your site in 3 stages, with your review and changes submitted after each stage.
Stage 1, the initial frame of the website including the admin.
Stage 2, the overall design and function of the website.
Stage 3, the completed website, subject to minor changes/bugfixes.
