Description
This software programming project consists in a small application used for transfer of messages to and from a network TCP socket and a USB HID device. On one hand, the software receives messages from a TCP socket at port xxxx and forward it to USB HID hardware driver of Mac OS. On the other hand, the software receives message from the USB HID hardware driver and forwards it to the TCP socket. That's all it does. We already have this little bridge application fully working and tested under Windows (C++/Visual studio project) and just need to make a MAC OS equivalent. It took very little time (about 2 days) for our programmers to code/test the application so we expect that it would take as little to perform the same task under MAC OS. The winning bidder will get our C++ code + software flow diagram which will help a lot the process.
Implementation details: 1) Multi process is suggested to build the software. 2) You can write in whatever language works for you best, but using our existing C++ code would make the project easier. Full compatibility with Mac OS required. 3) One process monitors whether the USB HID device is plugged or not. The connection status should appear in the User Interface of the software. 4) If the USB HID device is detected, create two more process. 5) One process waits for the incoming message from the USB HID driver. If there is an incoming message, forward to the connected TCP socket 6) Another process create socket at port 5333 and waits for a connection. Once connection is established, wait for incoming messages from the TCP socket. If there is an incoming message, forward it to the USB HID driver. 7) Some very basic notification should appear in the user interface when message is send out to TCP socket/ to USB HID Driver so that the user is aware that communication is in progress.
Bidding Requirements: 1) No newbies on this project. Only serious bidders with previous MAC OSx dev experience 2) To get on this project, you need to list your experience in programming Mac apps (Mac OS x programming experience mandatory) Tell us your related experience that you think will help us choose you/your company. Understanding of USB and TCP/IP stack required. 3) Once we select a smaller group of serious bidders, we'll move on to giving you more information (software flow chart). We'll then make our choice on the right bidder. 4) If you do your job well and in time, you'll certainly get more work and great feedback. If you are planning to do 1/2 job, best you don't bid on this project as we want serious bidders only.
