Description
As part of our existing HD Media Network, we have a very solid and dynamic mediaplayer based on Microsoft Vista, practically format agnostic. (.wmv, .mov, .swf .jpg. mp3, .wma. .flac etc). We are looking for senior programmers to make a similar client based on Linux to be run from a standard PC (typically we use Dell).
Among others things: Client will receive play instructions from servers, report status to server, report which mediafiles it has stored on local disk(s), playback in HD format (720p/1080I/p. It must be able to run more than one player on a PC (on different monitors), it must support multi monitor configurations, play back Flash animations on top of video/pictures (transparent mode). Also, we would require a specific Watchdog program to watch over an monitor that player is running.
Program / Linux image must be easy to deploy and maintain remotely.
We do not want offers from companies doing "everything". We require specific expert knowledge in the field of Linux Programming and extensive digital media competence. We would be looking for hiring a team to do the developement (1-3 developers) and expect it to run over 2-3 months.
