Description
I need a point-of-sale system, designed open-ended for future enhancements (web client & web shopping cart). The client will be run on low-end Linux machines.
It must have a highly professional, modern user interface. All input shall be thru barcode reader and keyboard (no mouse). Support for receipt printer and cash drawer should be included. In a typical deployment, two (2) POS’s will share a printer, and cash drawer. It must make use of an open source database. The client must be able to run on Linux.
Each POS station will need to be synchronized in near-real-time with a central database server, over the Internet. If the POS station is unable to make an Internet connection, data must be able to be synchronized with flash drives.
Each POS station must be able to run in “stand alone” mode if the Internet connection is lost, or never connected.
Inventory control (inventory management) should be included with POS and should allow for inter-store stock transfers, stock receiving, transfer to store,
Accounting features, data export, and data import options should be included. Sales and inventory reports are also required.
Detailed sales histories (reports) by item, salesperson, department, product category, supplier, stock on hand, department, product category, top sellers, slow movers, overstock, low and out of stock items, and profit generators.
The client must also include a time clock function, to keep track of employees time.
Code must be self developed and I will have the total ownership and intellectual property right of the code/systems.
Past POS projects and demo's would be a plus.
To bid on this you must know about POS (point of sales) systems, and have worked with them. I will expect the winning bidder to bring up ideas that make this project a success. This project will be paid once the system is completed and tested, no advance payments will be provided.
Reminder
You may not start working in this and any project before
your bid is accepted. Any user who violates this policy
may have their account permanently suspended.
