Description
The project is to write some javascript functions that allow us to interact with SVG images simlar to the one posted here. You will need solid JavaScript skills and also a solid undertanding of SVG and how to manipulate it using JavaScript.
General Overview of Project
We require the ability to render and manipulate an SVG diagram of a business flow which contains step icons and lines drawn between those icons. Rendering needs to be done inside a standard browser. The SVG image itself will be pulled from a database. The basic requirements fall into four areas.
1. The image itself needs to support basic operations such as resize, zoom, pan, etc (similar on some ways to how Google maps works). These functions need to be accessible from the JavaScript as well from a set of widgets similar to Google Maps.
2. We require various overlays on top of the image. These include a simple 3 bar chart, an icon, a box around a given step icon, a text field (showing an error message), and an outline area that follows a path through the diagram (including following the path rendered by the lines between steps).
3. We require the ability to animate certain of the lines joining the icon steps to give the impression of motion at different speeds (like chaser lights).
4. We require the ability to click on the diagram and select a step icon and for a JavaScript function to be called which can determine which step has been selected.
Generally, all the overlay functionality needs to be done dynamically, in real time from JavaScript without refresh. The page will get frequent updates and some of these updates will require changes to the overlays on the diagram to happen immediately, without page or diagram refresh.
We want to break this project in a number of iterations. You will be paid at the successful completion of each iteration.
