Description
We are small company that manufacture card products like cardboard boxes, corrugated cardboard boxes; displays, etc. every Product can be composed of different parts like inserts, foams, separators etc.
We are a small company with different locations, we ship from every location and every location handles its own stock control, and its own invoice number.
But we accept transfers of materials between locations
We manufacture by order. Ideally after shipping the order, we should not have remaining stock since our customer do not accept delivers greater than 5% of the ordered quantity. If there is some product left it will be shipped next time that product is order, so we only should manufacture the difference.
Each product need to have different unit of measure, foe example paper need to be counted in rolls, and meters, and perhaps in kilograms, for counting purposes we require count the number of rolls, but for a production order we need to issue meter, for purchasing we need kilograms
For stock purposes we track lots… a lot usually is a production number or a delivery from the supplier.
We want to be able to allocate material for a production order. For example if we manufacture 50,000 pieces of “ke127 75cm x 60” , 10,000 can be for the production order number PO800 and the rest for the production number PO750. We want a especial report or a way to know that the material is to be used so we do not use it for antother production order.
We would like to tract the value of the inventory at any given time, including value of material issued to manufacturing (inventory in process)
Actually we track inventory in excel sheets, since every product has different dimensions we have created a different code for every measure of cardboard, even if it is the same material. E.g.
Ke127-710-270 for “single face 127grms 71x27cm”
Ke127-720-730 for “single face 127grms 72x73cm”
If another idea is given we can consider it.
We need to assign related info to the bom, like the tools needed to cut(called suaje in Spanish), quantity per suaje, and measure of the suaje. This info is required for calculations
For example we need to fabricate piece of cardboard of 50x75 cm and we can obtain 2 boxes from it, the printed part can be a piece of paper of 100 x75cm. and we obtain 4 printed boxes from it. This info is for calculation of material required.
We have several providers for the same product and each product can have different cost depending on the provider
For sales we offer discount according to the the quantity level.
We want software capable of handling stock so when we enter a sale of any product all sub products get subtracted from stock. If an invoice is cancelled all the operation involved should be reversed.
Consumables should have a minimum stock level and stock reorder quantity. If we reach minimum stock level system should generate a report or red flag or something to notify us to reorder stock level.

Cost of any production order
Main interface can be built in Java or C++ . We already use mysql and postgresql.if c++ is used we would prefer GTK+ as the GUI. Since we are used to that interface.
