Description
Hello,
We are looking for a linux based application that will receive audio, and audio/video FLV (Flash) files and convert them into mp3 for the audio and video that will work on an ipod video for the video.
We need this application to be very efficient and scale in a multi-threaded way so that it can handle thousands of these at high capacity.
We will need to know benchmarks for what every box can convert as part of the project so we know how much hardware we need for this and what latency i will have on conversion. ie converting 5 minutes of and FLV video file into mp4 will take N seconds on X box ~
Our application is written in PHP and should be able to submit the file to the component for conversion, with a path to the original file, a converted file will be deposited into a folder with the same filename with new extension.
Our video is at 320x240 format, see below the spec for video that will work on an ipod from apples site. The video output should be consistent with the best option on this list. Best option will be a function of the format that is a balance between best quality of video, smallest size of file and shortest time to compress.
You will need to help arrive at that conclusion via some testing.
File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov Video: Up to 768 kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per second (fps), Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio
MPEG-4 video File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov Video: Up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio
Regards
