Description
Flex 3 dashboard to visualize data from revenue reports.

We want to create a dashboard to visually represent data obtained through a revenue report that we receive weekly. We want to hire a development team to help create the framework and server integration of this application. This application’s purpose is to give our clients a way to see trends within sales through an online charting dashboard instead of having to search through 60 pages of numbers. The design and skinning will be done through our in-house designers. We need the framework to be easily cloned and re-skinned to different clients. We plan on re-skinning this application and re-directing this application to different databases when one of our client wants to purchase this dashboard. We are using a SQL server (version 9) and ASP .NET with our server. The data for these reports are fed into our database server. We will most likely want to use Action Message Format for the communication method. We will be dealing with hundreds of thousands of records, so we want it to reduce bandwidth usage and maintain higher responsiveness. We would provide a detailed layout of how each one of the pages would look and a description of how we would want each chart to interact.

The dashboard would have 5 main sections: Main area, Same store area, Comp store area, All store area, Individual store(s) area. This dashboard will be a private application, so we will have a login section as the “splash” page.

Each section will need to have a data grid to have all the raw numbers. It will also need several different charts to illustrate the data. We will want sections to interact with each other. For example, if you double click on “Period 5” it will drill down into weeks 22-26.

Each section has the following items:
• Last 52 weeks (retail, service, over)
• Trailing, annualized, yearend totals
• Period 1-12 services, retail and total revenues.
• Average week revenue in services, retail, and totals
• The years current percentage in increase sales and increase in budget from the previous year
• Individual store percentage increase/decrease in services, retail, and totals.
• Individual week revenues in services, retail, and totals comparing the current years week vs the previous years week.
• Increase/decrease in percentage of week to week services, retails and total sales.
• Quarterly totals in services, retail, and totals from 2007 vs 2008.
• Quarterly increase/decrease of services, retail, and totals in percent.

Individual stores have all of the above plus:
• Specific store reports of revenue.
• History of “best weeks” in sales of retail, services, and total.

All of this information is in a database already and is updated weekly. We need the developer to setup a way to point the application to our database server. We have an experienced database developer to assist in the setup.

We need to have the project completed near the end of the year. If the project can’t be totally complete, we need to have at least have a functional prototype to show. So our timeline is about 2-6 months. We want want to own the code because we plan on recreating this dashboard multiple times and customizing the content towards our individual clients.
