Description
I am running the newest Dolphin 7 to sell photo prints of any uploaded photo. Every uploaded photo should be automatically available for purchase for 0.99USD. Every print comes in only one size and one print type (glossy). The only thing to option for a user would be the quantity of each photo print.
I want each photo print to sell for 0.99 USD. A user can add any photo to his shopping cart. When he checks out and pays with PayPal, the order request containing the photo IDs (or URLs) is sent to me for fulfillment. The full payment is made to my PayPal account, and every member who sold a photo print is credited in his online account (a database entry).
In other words, the shopping cart can contain photos belonging to different members. When any member sells any of his photos, he gets credited on his account. From the 0.99USD, the member gets 0.50USD added to his account. I keep 0.49USD for printing and order fulfillment.
The checkout process is just a payment to me with PayPal. The credit to the selling member(s) is just a database entry. Dolphin currently has a multi-check out process whenever more than one member makes a sale. I need just one check out process that pays me. I use a manual payment process to pay the members who made a sale.
I have a lookup table to use for calculating the shipping charge that is based on the number of prints ordered.
Whenever a member has collected money in his account, he can request payment from me at anytime by sending me an email. He would need to have a registered Paypal account. I will pay the member through a separate Paypal transaction. This is a manual process and this piece is not part of this project.
Once you build this mod (extension) it can be used to sell other types of items, like music downloads. So you would be able to sell your mod to other Dolphin site owners who want to split the profits with the members in return for free hosting.
Dolphin 7 has a built in Store. The difference with this project is that every uploaded photo is available for purchase. I do not want my members to upload a \"Product\" in their Store. All I\'m selling are photo prints and I do not want to sell any other thing. Every uploaded photo will be automatically available for sale as a print for 0.99USD.
