DATALOGGER, C, EMBEDDED

We are a small company that wants to develop a datalogger and software for it.
It will be used and sold as part of a meteorological station for gathering climate data.
We will need help with hardware and software.

Fist the hardware:
Datalogger has to be based on an existing development board in production that can be purchased in a company such as Sparkfun.

We will buy one board and have it sent to you as part of the project. You have to choose the board that will perform all we want.

There will be 8 analog inputs to the datalogger ( 2 counters and 6 Vdc inputs )
Board has to have RS-232 and USB at least. Better if it has Ethernet also.
A very simple key board will be needed. Also a simple display.
Datalogger needs RTC and watch dog timer.
Data have to be sent to some portable external memory such as na SD card or better a simple pendrive.

Some conditions that make the project easier include:
a) No problem with energy or power or trying to minimize consumption. The meteorological sites will have 110Vac and thus 12VDC available.
b) No problem with size. Or trying to shrink hardware. Datalogger can be the size of a shoe box or even larger.
c) No problem with speed. Number of data and sampling is very low. Data saved willbe hourly averages. So no need for fast ADC. 10 bits is enough but 12 is prefered.
d) Cost of all hardware for production must be below US$ 160.00 ( This does not include baterries or SD card or pendrive or interconnect cables. But must include all else such as keyboard and display.
e) Amount of data stored is very low . We need at least 200 days of data.
Each day will have only 24 sets of data that will include year month day hour and 8 sets of numbers such as for example 311.5 ( wind direction in degrees)

SOFTWARE
The datalogger must save data to the Sd card or pendrive in .txt if possible.
User takes this portable memory with data from datalogger and connects to his PC.
Data then has to be as text. .txt
Data has to be easily exported to excel .
If user takes his notebook to datalogger he has to be able to configure the analog signals , change date and hour and several other configurations.
User has to be able to see instantaneous data in his notebook or palm when connected to thru USB with datalogger.
