------ SPECIFICATION AND DESIRED REPORTS------------------------------
This winform tool is to 223generate224 detailed call detail reports for a telephony system from a CSV file. It should produce reports as given here:
http://www.atcomm.com/reports-index.asp.
1.) report similar to the 223COMPANY-WIDE TELEPHONE EXPENSE224, this is given on link: type, chart E1):
2.) report similar to the 223TEN MOST-EXPENSIVE CALLS224, this is given here (on type, chart E4)
User (high level) specification (typical flow):
-----------------------------------------------
1. Import of data: User 223imports224 CDR file with the call detail records from the telephony server. This is parsed into a 221new224 SQL Compact database file for further processing. This shall be implemented on a winform tab named 223import224. A progress bar shall display the progress and how many records are imported. As well, data validation shall be done with 223sensible224 error correction. So, for example if one line can not be parsed, a error shall be logged (For example in a list box) 226 but then continue. We will provide several CDR reports. The software needs to be written so that it can handle large files ie as StreamReader file.
2. Setting up of parameters in a 2nd tab 223Configuration224. The generation of the report will require parameters, for example:
a. Report Name
b. Report file name
c. A matrix what is regarded as external calls (for example all calls starting with 0), all overseas calls (starting with 00011..), all Local calls (starting with 98 or 99). This shouls be a list of patterns which then classfies a call as internal,external, external-overseas, external local etc205.
d. Report option
3. Generating the report: This shall display a progress bar and and a listbox, similar to below screenshot. We can deliver this code part and icons to accelate development. It now generates the report according to settings as HTML with the charts and ouput as per http://www.atcomm.com/reports-index.asp. In the end it asks the user to open the report to display in web browser. The challenge is to process the data as the CDR data needs to be analysed (see document in 6. below)
Technical specification:

1. Programming Environment: Visual Basic.NET 2008 Express, Windows Form based project
2. Software reads Call Detail Records (CDR) which is a flat, Comma Separated lines in a text file and generates Call reports for a phone system based on user settings
3. The CDR records are first imported into a local SQL Compact Express database (a sdf file); code parts how to import the CDR are avail on the web: a starting point is given here:

4. Then the user can select report options (like period of report, what type of call detail, customization of long distance international prefixes for filtering)
Based on that the report is generated as HTML file with the Charts; The excellent TELERIK package for reporting shall be used: http://www.telerik.com/products/reporting.aspx.
5. The CDR file has a certain structure which is based on a detailed specification by the telephony vendor which needs to be understood to implement above. There are some different cases to consider and it needs a smart person to understand. Please see here for the CDR specification:

The detailed requirements and design would need to be defined on the go, as long as the output of the 2 reports is similar as in the links above. Most of the details needed to be clarified 223on the go224.
Code Quality:
---------------
Our expectation is standard structured code quality with comments. Code must be structured according to functions for example (at least):
1.) Class Database which includes the import from CSV to SQL compact
2.) Class HTML which generates the HTML file
3.) Class Analyze CDR which processes the CDR records in the DB (uses Class Database205)
4.) Winform
Testing and accuracy:
------------------------
Our expectation is well tested, stable code which gives accurate results. Please plan time for this as we are not alpha code testers.
Handover and delivery.
---------------------------
After coding and quality has been done; the executable (code protected with obfuscation etc) will be given to us for testing. On our feedback, changes might be required. After successful fixing we will finish the project. The source code as VS project will be delivered and we will pay for it.

If we understand you correct you are using a dialer to make multiple call.
This Dialer gives reports in CSV format and can be at larger scale, if a particular record cannot be imported to the database you want a log created so that you can exactly review the data set which was not imported and the reason for the same. Through this data you want to pull up reports such as CALL TREND, CALL VOLUME, CALL RELEASED, AVG. HOLD TIME, AHT, CALL AREA(LOCAL, INTERNATIONAL, LOMG DISTANCE ETC.. ). Also you want to have the list of file from which a particular report was created.
Step 1) Getting the data from the csv file to sql.
Step 2) Generation of reports off the uploaded data as per date , time etc...
Step 3) Graphical Representation of data in graphical format.
