Description
-The application must be written in PHP / MySQL
-The design must be scalable (more room -> more books available)
-The minimal size is the design size. If the frame is bigger, the application must be able to scale.
-The audiofile (and picture) must be uploaded and converted to a file through ffmpeg. The file must be able to stream (available on the server) the audio and jump forward in the file.
-In order to make it possible to alter the interface, and exchange information to other applications design and functionality must be fully separated.
In order to achieve this, the application must be accessible through a web service.
-All the functionality must be available, through this web service.
-The extra settings must be saved in a MySQL database.
-The data the web service returns must be proper XML.
-The web service can only be available from a defined set of IPaddresses (A XML file with IP addresses will be enough)
If the libraryID is not available in the profile settings a popup must be shown to fill in the libraryID. This must be saved in the profile database.
Together with the GET vars and the POST vars (later on we will implement a descent SSO solution).
We want to build an application that makes it possible for users to access a database which is filled with audiobooks. This application will run on a (touchscreen) ‘platform’ with multiple applications. The users don’t have to log in when they access this application. This will be done by a single-sign on/openid function that takes place when the user enters the ‘platform’. When the user opens the audiobook application, the application must check if the user was listening to an audiobook in the previous session. If that is the case, the application must check which audiobook the user was listening to and also what minute/second the user was when he previously exited the application (listening position). When this information has been retrieved, the audiobook will start playing from that listening position. A user is also able to browse a list with all available books, he can select a book from the list and the audiobook will be played. If he doesn’t like it or he is finished, he can go back to the list of audiobooks. The user is also able to add/delete audiobooks to his list of favorites. This list will be saved in a database.
There will also be an administrator section, only available for administrator. In this section the administrator is able to add, modify and delete audio books. He can set the audiobooks to online/offline (visible/invisible for users).
