Description
We have 7-8 websites, and are planning to set up our own server on our 20.000 mbits lines.
- However we do not know how a webserver should be set up.
We have talked to our internet provider, and they will assist us with opening ports on our router needed to run
a webserver from our location. However we do not at present have static IP. We can buy it but
if can be avoided that is good, thus it is very expensive to have static IP
We already have two Macs (Imac 2.33 mhz) and 1 PC INTEL 3,2 mhz) - We have been told any of these machines will work good as a webserver for our needs. - You can therefor decide if you want to help us
with Windows Based machine or Mac OS X
here is what we need:
Step by Step assistance about how to install server software
Step by Step assistance about how to install firewall and any security related softwares
Help for setting up domains/ DNS on the server
Help to set up e-mail on the server
Help to set up Backup functionality on the server
Assistance abou installing softwares for flash chat/ mysql databases/ c-panel and things like that
We suspect LINUX is the best choice for our needs.
course our sites are running on LINUX servers at present.
We have MSN, and SKYPE and can communicate thru this. Also we will let you connect
to server by remote desktop if that is needed. Our location is in Norway, and lines may be slow from your location.
I hope you understand our needs, and have time to assist us setting up a web server.
Please do not bid if you are not sure how to set up webservers, and about security/firewall needed.

I forgot to mention that we also need software for chat (I think its called red5) on the server. If more easy we can install this on a second server.
