Delivery method
This is a multimodule program, so bundle your files as a single zip file named pa7.zip. Send this
file as an attachment in an email you send to the class account. Put the assignment number in the
subject field and your name in the body of the email. Here are the files you should have.
1. pa7.asm. This is the driver file with the startup procedure.
2. pa7functions.inc. This is the file containing the prototypes of your helper procedures.
3. pa7functions.asm. This is the implementation file for your helper procedures.

Problem
Write a protected-mode, flat memory model, multi-module program that simulates the game of tic
tac toe. The user will play against machine (your assembly program). Here are the requirements for
this program.
1. Define a two-dimensional array that represents the game board. Here are pictures of an empty
board and one during the progress of a game. Notice the board was created with characters

2. Define and call as many external procedures as is practical with PROTO/PROC/INVOKE. The
grader will judge if you have done this or not.
3. Start the game by randomly choosing player or machine to make first move. First player will
be assigned the letter x.
a. The machine chooses a move by selecting an open position randomly (not much
strategy here).
b. A player is prompted for a move, then enters this information from the keyboard. Cycle
this prompt/get until the user enters a position that is not occupied. Also, check to see if
an invalid board position is entered.
c. Show the current status of the board each time the user is prompted for a move.
4. When the game ends, display a message indicating who the winner was, or indicate â200234DRAWâ200235 if
that was the case, and show the final board display.
5. Style is important (as always).
