Description
We are using Adobe Acrobat to View 3D images generated from our CAD software.
We want to run Adobe's active X module from inside our C# program.
We want the Adobe acrobat to send a message, ( call back delegate) to our main
Host program when ever a object is selected. Objects are selected by clicking on
them either in the drawing tree, or on the actual image itself.
We also want to have a method where our Host can query the adobe active X module to get
a list of the items in the drawing tree.
Adobe Acrobat already supports a java script that has a event fired when a item is selected, the problem is that adobe does not directly support communication, such
as a virtual serial port, or we could just talk to the host application that way.
The java script does support Messages to the HOST, This seems to be the best way to
access to the information about the currently selected graphics Object.
Summary.
1. environment, c# Main program, that has Adobe activex module embedded in it.
Functions
1. event callback delegate so that when a Object is selected the adobe activeX
module will NOTIFY our Host Program of the selection, including the full name from
the drawing tree.
2. a method for asking and recieveing from the activeX module, the information in the
drawing tree. ( there is already a embedded command to export the drawing tree to a file in xml format, if this could be redirected to our application then everything
would function as needed).
we will provide a sample 3d file to the programmer that takes this job.
