Description
Company: CONFIDENTIAL Position Title: COMMERCIAL BUSINESS MANAGER Location: MINNEAPOLIS, MN Reports To: VICE PRESIDENT, SALES AND MARKETING Description: The Commercial Business Manager will work as an independent sales executive, who can bring in new business, and grow existing business for an injection plastic molding manufacturer. The incumbent will sell and promote products, systems and services utilizing the technical knowledge of engineering and/or science and cost effectiveness.
Responsibilities: • Respond to customer inquiries on the telephone, through on-line networks and by mail • Effectively communicate customer needs to the company and the company needs to the customers • Facilitate customer visits, presentations, conference calls and other activities required to mutually satisfy open issues including quality, delivery, design changes, pricing, returns, etc. • Communicate with Quality and Production regarding problems and follow-up to make sure problems are corrected • Work with the manufacturing facilities to maintain and grow customers through "customer intimacy" and outstanding project execution • Complete, maintain, and process pertinent paperwork and records • Maintain and report on short-term (3 month) sales forecasts for selected customers • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Sales
Qualifications: The incumbent should possess the following skills: Language skills: a) Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. b) Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals c) Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public d) Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers Mathematical skills: a) Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume b) Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Reasoning skills: a) Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists b) Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience 2. Experience in a business environment with experience working in an engineering capacity or for management/sales 3. Knowledge about injection plastic molding
